Quickie IRIS Tilt-in-Space Wheelchair

Intelligent Rotation In Space

A perfect solution for a user requiring rotation-in-space seating for pressure redistribution.

Quickie has developed a dramatic new approach to tilting in space. It's called the Quickie® IRIS™ (Intelligent Rotation In Space). Unlike systems that incorporate a fixed pivot-point, dual pivot-point, or linear element, the Quickie® IRIS™' rotational design is based on the idea of rotating the seat-frame around a user's center-of-gravity. This, combined with up to 60° of posterior rotation and hi-resolution adjustment, provides the ultimate in control, maneuverability, and stability.

The Quickie IRIS™ utilizes a rotational tilt-system. Instead of tilting the seat frame from an outside pivot-point the Quickie IRIS™ actually rotates the seat frame around the users center-of-gravity.

The 60° Tilt Advantage The 60° Tilt Advantage
The Quickie IRIS™ features three tilt ranges: -5° to 50°, 0° to 55°, and 5° to 60°. As the seat frame rotates past 45°, a significant amount of pressure transfers from the seat to the back.

Built-In Adjustability Built-In Adjustability
The Quickie IRIS™ has extensive built-in adjustability. The chair frame can literally expand from 14" -22" in width and 15" - 22" in depth changing only four small parts.

Low Seat-To-Floor Height Low Seat-To-Floor Height
The Quickie IRIS™ features a 14" front seat-to-floor height. Using a drop seat, this distance can be lowered to a 12 ½" seat-to-floor height.

How to use the Iris Rotation-n-Space Chair

Product Features

  • A transit option is available for 250 lb. and 350 lb. user weight-limits. Most tilt users have difficulty making transfers and many are required to remain in their chair. The transit option avoids many of the problems associated with transferring in and out of the chair during transportation.
  • Special aluminum alloys make the Quickie® IRIS™ one of the lightest manual rotation-in-space chairs in today's market.
  • The Quickie® IRIS™ features a special angle-adjustable stroller handle that quickly adjusts to a variety of caregiver heights.
  • A patented backpost bracket allows repositioning of the backpost seat-depth without removing the attaching hardware.
  • Specialty options, such as a reclining backrest, vent-and-battery tray, and one-arm drive are all available as "on-chair" options.
  • A tilt-angle indicator and a set of tilt-stops ship with every chair to provide a precise tilt range and tilt angle-setting.

5 of 5 Excellent Chair
Reviewer: Ray W. from Gulf Shores, AL
This is a very nice quality chair and everything on it works well, beautiful design, easy to change tilt angle, nice seat and headrest. My wife has been in a reclining wheelchair for several years, but this is a whole different approach and is easy to shift her weight and pressure points.

5 of 5 very easy to use
Reviewer: Jayne F. from Concord , MA
My mom loves this new chair! It's perfect! Very nice setup with the padded back cushion and headrest. I can tilt her back just enough to stop her from leaning to one side all day like she did in her old chair. This is truly a great chair and  I recommend it to anyone considering purchasing and expensive chair like this.

5 of 5 better than recliner type chair
Reviewer: Beth R. from Houston, TX
With my husband's recliner wheelchair it seemed as though he was staring at the ceiling most of the day. With this chair he is able to watch TV and actually look at us instead of the ceiling. Sales lady was very helpful picking out this chair and getting it sized right for my husband. Good quality.

It is truly a nice tilting wheelchair and constructed well. Was disappointed that the chair took over 2 weeks for delivery, but once I saw the chair and my dad in it all was well. He looks forward to getting in it every day because he knows it's time for a walk outside for fresh air.
