U Step 2 Walker- Reverse Brake Walker
model: U-Step II, US-PC2, Walking Stabilizer
Passive Control, Parkinson's Therapy Aid
Reverse braking system. The U-Step II Walker brake system works the opposite of typical walkers. Squeeze to walk, release the brake lever and it stops with the brake applied.
The U-Step Walker has all the features you wanted in an advanced walker and if you've done your research you already know there is not a lot to choose from when looking for a reverse-brake walker.
The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control. The U-Step will not roll unless you are ready to walk. When you lightly squeeze a hand brake, the unit will roll with you. Once you release the hand brake the unit will stop immediately. This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because, the unit will not roll away from you. This type of braking system also works correctly if you want to turn and sit on the walker seat.
The U-Step Walking Stabilizer was created to increase your independence. The secret is in the patented U shaped base. Its ultra-stable foundation braces you in every direction. It is not like pushing a walker. Instead, the U-Step surrounds you and moves with you. You will feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm.
Folding U Step Walker: Folds easily for compact storage or transport.
Padded Seat: Includes padded seat and underseat basket.
Slow Down Brake: The U-Step II includes a "slow-down" adjustable tension brake that can be adjusted to the individuals needs and/or capabilities. This allows "throttling" the walker so it can be set anywhere between very easy to push and difficult to push, slowing the user down to their own safe pace.
Frame Color: black
Spring-Loaded Front Wheel: Spring-loaded front caster system glides easily over uneven surfaces, such as indoor molding strips and cracks in the sidewalk.
Delivery, Lead-Time:In-stock, ships from our Arizona warehouse. Allow 3-5 business days for delivery via FEDEX Ground.
Recommended at dozens of major Parkinson’s centers. Used by thousands of people with Parkinson’s.More on the Reverse Brake System:Slightly squeezing one or both the brake levers releases the brake, and the backrest flips over and toward the user so that it can be used instead of the handlebars. When the backrest is flipped back, it also serves as a brake release. The user simply pushes down to release the walker (see video below).
Laser Light Option:Primarily used by those with Parkinson’s freezing but can be used by anyone with an irregular gait pattern.
If you suffer from freezing episodes, U-Step II has a solution. Introducing Laser Light, an optional feature of the U-Step. Simply press the red button on the handlebar and a bright red laser line is projected on the floor for you to step over. See projected line illustrated below. It is amazing! The laser offers an entirely safe, obstacle-free, visual cue that helps you break the “freezing episode,” and walk normally with increased stride length.
