Post-Op Knee Braces

A Post-Op Knee Brace can be an important factor in healing, pain relief, and increasing Range-of-Motion and function. ROM exercises should begin by the 5th day after surgery. These flexibility exercises are key to regaining strength and full mobility. Avoid squatting, kneeling, excessive knee flexion, and stairs. ROM is usually increased over 1-2 weeks as strength returns. With ROM exercises performed correctly, patient may be discharged from therapy in 4-6 weeks. Those involved in athletics or other high-level activities will continue strength and flexibility exercises before returning to their sport.

Post Operative Knee Surgery

The first couple days after having knee surgery will consist of Rest, Ice, Compressions, and Elevation (RICE). This is intended to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation.
