Karman KM-5000 Recliner Wheelchair

KM-5000F Series Reclining Wheelchairs available in 4 sizes.

The Karman KM-5000 Recliner a lightweight, folding reclining wheelchair. The KM-5000F series chair is a self-propel model with larger 24" rear wheels. Even if the patient does not self-propel the 24" rear wheels will always provide an easy to push chair with a better ride over uneven surfaces.

Full-Reclining:
The Karman Recliner wheelchair reclines from 90° (vertical) to a full 163° for superior patient positioning.

Lightweight Chair:
The Karman KM-5000F Recliner wheelchair is constructed with high-strength aircraft grade 6061 T-6 aluminum and weighs only 36 lbs, 38-lbs on 20" and 22" seat models, compare that to most recliners that weigh in around 50-lbs. and it's actually lighter than a lot of standard wheelchairs on the market.

Includes head pillow, anti-tippers, elevating legrest:
Instead of offering the manufactures options and upgrades at additional costs, we're going to configure the chair for you with the essentials already included.

The recline system allows patient repositioning or orientation by changing the seat-back angle. Your recliner wheelchair will include Elevating Legrests (ELR's), not just simple Swingaway Footrests. Changing patient orientation throughout the day will:
  1. Provide increased patient comfort.
  2. Redistribute pressure points for patients that are at risk of pressure sores.
  3. Increase sitting tolerance for patients that would otherwise be confined to a bed.
  4. With included ELR's, provides passive range-of-motion for hips and knees.
The recliner chairs are often used by patients with head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and various muscle diseases.

  • 16"W x 17"D (250lbs. capacity)
