Dolomite walkers are innovatively designed
and carefully manufactured to be reliable and easy to maintain. Built of
lightweight, yet durable high tensile steel alloys, our walkers offer the
best value in safety, quality and comfort. Dolomite's world-class walkers
are available with a variety of unique, functional accessories to meet
many with different needs. See accessories below...
BROKEN
HIP OR HIP REPLACEMENT At times, after breaking a hip or
having a relatively common hip replacement operation, a client cannot walk
as far as before without assistance. Walkers provide an ideal walking
support and encourage an uninterrupted walking pattern.
STROKE PATIENTS
Stroke patients can often still walk with a walker, using the one hand
brake and Hemiplegic (HP) handle, on the affected side. A great way to
encourage a daily walk.
PARKINSON'S
The Parkinson patient has the tendency to walk faster and faster until
they fall. Using the walker will provide the patient with support and a
barrier that will push back and slow the patient down preventing them from
falling. Adding the optional slow-down brake will assist further when
cognition is an issue.
ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
This client needs a focal point or a frame of reference. The walker will
keep the patient's attention more focused on their environment and often
has a calming or stabilizing effect that helps to reduce anxiety.
