SELAN+AF Antifungal Cream
Selan+ AF, with miconazole nitrate, is a barrier antifungal cream. The zinc oxide and dimethicone ingredients combine to provide a moisture barrier to protect the skin from external moisture, while the miconazole nitrate treats fungal infections. This new product allows caregivers to use one product to both protect the skin and treat fungal infections at the same time.
Selan+ AF can be used to treat such conditions as superficial yeast infections (candidiasis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis) and most jock itch (tinea cruris). It can also relieve symptoms such as itching, burning and redness associated with these conditions. Like all Selan products, Selan+ AF is petrolatum-free and will not clog diaper pores or impede diaper absorption.
The dimethicone and zinc oxide ingredients provide a barrier to protect skin from incontinence and other harsh environmental conditions.

Softens Skin: Selan contains emollients, fatty substances that penetrate into the epidermis to render the skin pliable and soft, and improve hydration. Oils (e.g. petrolatum) do not penetrate into the epidermis, and therefore do not contribute to skin pliancy and hydration.
Moisture Barrier: Zinc oxide forms a barrier that prohibits harsh conditions from reaching the epidermis or the deeper layers of the skin.
Aqueous-Based: Unlike petrolatum-based products, aqueous-based Selan is not greasy feeling, and will not clog diaper pores and interfere with diaper absorption. In addition, caregivers report that it is easier on the patient’s skin, as assistants do not have to be aggressive in removing excess product from the patient’s skin.
