The Invacare MNS400-E is a full-depth (8") portable, lightweight and economical powered alternating pressure air mattress replacement system that reduces interface pressure for the treatment of Stage I to Stage IV pressure ulcers. Immobilized patients are prone to suffer destruction of the skin and soft body tissue often resulting in pressure sores. A pressure sore is a lesion caused by unrelieved pressure resulting in underlying tissue damage. Pressure sores cause approximately 60,000 deaths a year and around $1.3 billion dollars. The MNS400-E alternates inflation and deflation of cells every 5 minutes to constantly change pressure points and promote circulation, which redistributes the pressure against the skin to promote capillary circulation. The mattress on the Invacare MNS400E can be set to static or alternating mode. The waterproof, antimicrobial therapy cover reduces friction and shear. The Alternating Pressure’s power unit controls combine simplified operations with effective results. The Alternating Pressure Mattress features variable pressure settings for patient comfort and a built in transfer mat for patient transport. The Invacare MNS400-E accommodates 350 pounds.
In Alternating-Pressure mode, the 16 adjacent air cells of the Invacare MNS400-E Alternately inflate and deflate at 5 minute intervals, which redistributes the pressure against the skin to promote capillary circulation.
